These are the necessary legal requirements which needs to be mentioned, and they are no different to many other reunion sites overseas. Here are just a few quick rules which we expect everyone to abide by. The following terms apply to you and your use of the Oz Reunion web site. You are required to agree to these terms to have a listing on this web site. Violation of these terms may lead to termination of your listing and exclusion from future use of the service.

  1. Oz Reunion is an Internet service (the Service) owned and operated by URL Media & Marketing, P.O Box 7494, Sippy Downs, Qld. 4556, AUSTRALIA. Australian Business Number 29324021636 (hereafter "we", "our" or "us"). "Listing" or "valid listing" means any information sent to Oz Reunion by you, adheres to all terms of this service, which is posted on the web site at www.ozreunion.com.au, www.reunion.com.au, www.adoption.com.au or any other web server which may be clicked through to. "Content" means the information which has been posted on the web site at ozreunion.com.au or any other web server which may be clicked through to. "You" or "your" or "user" means a person aged 16 or over, user of the Service for itself and you as parent or guardian for any minor which you allow to access the Service, for whom you will be held strictly responsible. You must be 16 years or older to submit a listing or submission.

  2. Genuine listings only. Incognito, alias names, and fictitious/invalid email addresses are not allowed. It is useless being listed if your family and friends cannot contact you. Your entry will be deleted if your email address is not valid.

  3. You agree not to use your access to Oz Reunion for any commercial purpose, or to contact anyone listed on our website for such purposes, or to send spam emails. You are authorised to use the Content only for personal or professional family history research, and may download Content only as search results relevant to that research. The download of the whole or significant portions of any work or database is prohibited. You agree not to publish, copy or download any photos, URLs, banners, gifs, text, logos, etc. without obtaining written permission from Oz Reunion. Further, you may not make use of or copy any 'meta tags' or other 'hidden text' without our written consent. All content on our website is subject to and protected by the copyright laws of Australia. 

  4. All material, including feedback, and listing information submitted/posted to this site by you, becomes the intellectual property of Oz Reunion, and you relinquish all rights to that information. You also give Oz Reunion complete authority, ownership and discretion as to how any listing is amended or deleted once there has been a successful reunion. Listings may be edited or deleted at the sole discretion of Oz Reunion. Any feedback given to Oz Reunion may be used on our website, at the sole discretion of Oz Reunion. All listings and other information on our website is subject to the copyright laws of Australia.

  5. We value your privacy, so to protect your privacy, we do not allow linked email addresses in your listings unless you specifically ask for this service. To avoid "spam" all emails in the Event registers and Classifieds sections will have a space after the @ symbol, so please delete the space when using this email. Some entries in the Classifieds sections will be given a reference number at the end of each listing. Please quote this number when contacting Oz Reunion for the contact details of the person placing the listing. At times, the person placing the listing has not advised Oz Reunion of any change in contact details, and the information we have on file (such as email address) may or may not be current, and you may receive an "auto responder" message. We do not allow junk mailing of our clients, or solicitations for commercial purposes. Oz Reunion does not sell, or distribute these lists and we appreciate you not doing so. 

  6. EMAIL SCAMS - When submitting a listing, please remember that our website is in the public domain, and the information that you provide, can be used by a third party to contact you. As a matter of privacy, we encourage you to only divulge a minimum amount of information to achieve the result you are looking for. Clients should check the authenticity of any communication sent by a third party, as to their genuine response to your listing. It is advised not to place too much information on our website so you can authenticate any positive responses to your listing. Please report to Oz Reunion any solicitations from any third parties, for commercial purposes or otherwise. Email scams should be deleted and not responded to. When in doubt please refer the communication to Oz Reunion, who can advise you.

  7. All hard copy photographs submitted for a classified, remain your property and will be returned to you within 14 days of receipt if an enclosed stamped and self addressed envelope is included. All email pictures are to be 100kb or less, in "jpeg" format if possible (for clarity), and no photo or any other information will be posted to the classifieds pages until a listing fee of AUD$20.00 is received.

  8. You agree to be bound by these terms of service when you submit a listing to Oz Reunion, whether by post, e-mail or by the on-line forms found at our website.

  9. You agree to keep your classified within the conventions of good taste, with no derogatory remarks about a 3rd party. Portions of the Service will contain user provided content, to which you may contribute appropriate content. For this content, Oz Reunion is a distributor only. By submitting content to Oz Reunion, you grant Oz Reunion, the corporate host of the Service, a limited license to the content to use, host, distribute and allow hosting and distribution on co-branded Services that Content. You should submit only content which belongs to you and will not violate the property or other rights of other people or organisations. Oz Reunion is sensitive to the copyright and other intellectual property rights of others. 

  10. Oz Reunion reserves the right to amend your submission to follow guidelines of consistency throughout the web site, and also correct spelling mistakes, grammar etc. The information, products, and services included on this Web Service may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. Changes are periodically added to the information herein. Oz Reunion and its third party suppliers provide all Content in this Service on an "AS IS" basis, and without any warranty of any kind.

  11. Oz Reunion also reserves the right to refuse a submission or remove any user provided content which comes to its attention and which it believes, in its sole discretion, is illegal, obscene, indecent, defamatory, incites racial or ethnic hatred or violates the rights of others.

  12. Oz Reunion and its third party suppliers make no representations concerning the suitability, reliability or accuracy of the Content or the service provided on the Service for any purpose. We and its third party suppliers disclaim all warranties, expressed or implied, in connection with the Content and the services provided on the Service, including conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. In no case will we or our third party providers be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, special or other damages including, without limitation, lost or delay of use, lost profits, loss of data or any other damage in contract, tort, equity or any other legal theory, even if advised of the possibility thereof. Oz Reunion takes no responsibility for any negative outcome resulting in a reunion, meeting or otherwise, and should check the authenticity of any such claim before proceeding.

  13. You will endeavour to keep Oz Reunion informed of any change in e-mail, contact address to enable us to contact you when the need arises (which is not very often). Oz Reunion reserves the right to delete or modify an entry if the contact details are not valid.

  14. Your valid listing to the "Classifieds" section of Oz Reunion, including the School Reunion pages, are to be of 100 words or less. Once payment is received your listing will be posted on-line, and kept on our site until you instruct Oz Reunion to remove it. There are NO RENEWAL FEES. The current listing fee is AUD$20.00 in the Classifieds. No information or accompanying photos in the Classifieds will be listed until payment is received by personal/bank cheque, money order, or by direct deposit into our account. Please make all cheques/money orders payable to URL Media & Marketing, not Oz Reunion.  Personal cheques will need to be cleared before your listing will be uploaded. Any dishonour fee incurred by Oz Reunion, through a dishonoured cheque, will be vigorously pursued for compensation. International personal cheques will not be accepted, please use direct deposit into our account. Our account details are:

  15. There will be no refund, in part or in full for any listing, under any circumstances. Listing fees may be changed by Oz Reunion at any time, and will not effect our existing clients. Fees do not apply to valid listings on the "Event Registers", which are free, all day every day, without a time limit. Valid listings must meet the criteria for the particular Event Register in order to be published to the website, eg. no school reunions on the Family & Friends pages. School reunion pages (where the normal AUD$20.00 listing fee is applicable) are classified listings.  A classified is deemed to be an entry of 100 words or less, which may accompany a photo. Some expired or completed school reunions will not show email contacts, due to invalid email addresses, and will not be re-listed without a listing fee. "To Be Advised" School Reunions and dates without a month/year for school reunions will be listed in your classified.

  16. By submitting your personal, classified, listing, reunion and related information to us, you, the end user, are thereby granting to Oz Reunion a royalty-free, worldwide, non-terminable, exclusive license to use this information and your exact words (and excerpts and edited versions of your submission) in all media, and contact the person you are searching for. You also waive all claims against Oz Reunion for any violations of rights of privacy, publicity, and defamation or other personal torts arising from Oz Reunion use of the information in such media. No payments shall be due to you for such grant of rights. All contributors to Oz Reunion and it's website, are informed and in agreement that their listing will be archived by the National Library of Australia, and be used by any other media outlet that Oz Reunion sees fit.

  17. No 3rd Party submissions are accepted, without the express permission of Oz Reunion and the person in question. All such cases must be identified in your original submission, and must have authority to do so by the person in question. We reserve the right to refuse and delete a listing of someone, who we feel is abusing the service or exploiting it in a way which is detrimental to Oz Reunion or it's clients. Oz Reunion makes no guarantee or claim of accuracy to any submission /listing posted to this site, we only post the information that is received in good faith, by any concerning party provided information and you agree that any recourse for dissatisfaction, inaccuracy or problems with that information, will be sought from the third party provider and not from Oz Reunion. 

  18. Oz Reunion may, from time to time, provide opportunities to users of the Web Service to link to or buy services from third parties. Sites of those third parties may be subject to terms and conditions which are different from those found here. Oz Reunion makes no warranty concerning third party provided goods or services and you agree that any recourse for dissatisfaction or problems with those goods or services will be sought from the third party provider and not from Oz Reunion.

  19. Oz Reunion may send electronic mail to you from time to time, for the purpose of informing you of changes or additions to Oz Reunion, or of any Oz Reunion related products and services. By providing your email address via our website, you authorise and consent for Oz Reunion to contact you by email at any time. You may opt out of this notification service by sending us an e-mail.

  20. Oz Reunion has the right, at its sole discretion, to modify this Agreement or the Service at any time. Changes in service will be posted at www.ozreunion.com.au or sent via e-mail. If any portion of this Agreement or any change of this Agreement of the Service is unacceptable to you or will cause you to no longer be in compliance with the agreement, you may cancel your submission by sending an e-mail. Continued use of the service now or following posted notices of changes in this Agreement means that you have accepted and are bound by the changes.
